Hello everyone!

​

Over the past year, we saw several changes in communication, member engagement, and
operations which challenged our chapter's ability to adapt in times of crisis. We utilized our
skilled leadership team to turn the problems we faced into opportunities by implementing
long-lasting solutions. To improve member engagement after a year of Zoom fatigue, we
introduced three new committees for general members to increase involvement. Through the
introduction of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, we were able to recognize the
individuality of each and every one of our members and we hope to continue the growth of
the topic in our chapter.

We continued our mentorship program and were delighted to see double the number of
mentee-mentor relationships since last year. We hosted 25 unique events and have many
more to come this semester as we gear up to have a successful and interesting spring
semester. While there were limitations to in-person activities, we utilized a virtual platform to
broaden our reach to companies that would otherwise have been unable to network with our
members. This virtual expansion of our world is also enabling us to host our 2nd regional
conference online, permitting representatives from companies like Google to present.

As our leadership team has grown, so has our knowledge and we have implemented
procedures allowing future leaders to be prepared for all challenges they may come across.
Although we had a brand new leadership team with little experience, this year marked the
beginning of several new concepts in our chapter, and we are looking forward to building
even better experiences for our members in the years to come. Adhering to our values, we
aim to build off last semester's accomplishments and learn from our mistakes to set in motion
an improved and revamped AMA at IU chapter.
